About Tour

High in the Himalayas lies Bhutan—a kingdom wrapped in mist, mystery, and quiet magic. Often called The Land of the Peaceful Dragon, Bhutan feels like a world preserved in time, where ancient monasteries cling to cliffs and colorful prayer flags dance in the mountain wind.

In this small, serene country, happiness is not just a feeling but a national treasure. Instead of measuring success through wealth, Bhutan follows the philosophy of Gross National Happiness, valuing peace, nature, and spiritual well-being above all else.

As you wander through emerald valleys, past fluttering prayer wheels and friendly faces dressed in traditional attire, you’ll sense a deep harmony between the people, their culture, and the land. Sacred sites like the Tiger’s Nest Monastery tell stories of saints, legends, and miracles that still echo through the mountains.

by marcus westberg paro 2023 15

Legend has it that in 746 AD, the revered Indian saint Guru Padmasambhava flew to this very spot on the back of a tigress to subdue five demons who were hindering the spread of Buddhism in Bhutan. Today, Taktshang is one of Bhutan’s holiest sites and a must-visit for pilgrims and travelers alike.

The hike to the monastery takes about 5 hours (round trip), following an ancient path lined with prayer wheels powered by a nearby river, and leading you up to this sacred perch.

After reaching the monastery, enjoy a well-deserved lunch at the cafeteria, which offers stunning views of the valley below.

In the evening, take a leisurely stroll through Paro Town. Wander among traditional wooden buildings, shop for local crafts, and savor a taste of Bhutanese cuisine at one of the local eateries, immersing yourself in the rhythm of daily life in this charming town.
